Food is important to our health. We are bombarded with commercials driving one mile exposes a person to several fast food restaurants. How important is our diet to overall health?

This year I decided to make lifestyle changes in regards to my diet. The results have been amazing!

Following changes were implemented:

  • No soda
  • Bye-bye pork
  • Meat consumed three-four times a week

Before these changes were made I suffered with severe reflux unable to keep food down consistently. Managing systemic lupus and fibromyalgia was a challenge as well. Currently I am in remission with lupus (negative ANA test) and reflux is gone.

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves. The key is to put the right things inside our bodies to promote wellness.

The following foods/drinks proved beneficial:

  • Water with lemon   Our body is composed of about 60% of water. It makes sense to drink plenty of water. Adding lemon (essential oil/fruit) balances ph and helps purify the liver.
  • Spinach    Tastes great in salad combine with tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil. Spinach is a good source of protein which makes a great substitute for meat.
  • Beans   Beans are the perfect food. They measure high in antioxidant capabilities. Since they are high in fiber and water a person feels fuller quicker which can aid in cutting calories.

Take care of your body and it will take care of you!
